The Ancient Bristllecone Pine Forest in California's White Mountains contains the oldest living things on Earth. These trees, tough appearing to be dead, can be more than 4,500 years old. At an elevation of almost 13,000 feet, the Patriarch Grove is an excellent location for viewing the night sky.
